National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully conducted the JEE Mains January session exam and more than 9 lakh candidates appeared in more than 250 exam centers in India and abroad. NTA has already released the JEE Mains Answer Key on 14th January and candidates can only check that till 17th of January 2019. What’s next is that candidates will be in utmost anticipation for their exam result. As per the official notice released by NTA, the JEE Main 2019 Result is to be released on 31st January 2019. However, it can also be released prior to the said date. Other than that, NTA has introduced new methods and norms to calculate the JEE Main Results of the candidates. Normalization Procedure Based on Percentile Score
Since we all know by now that NTA has now made the JEE Main examination a computer based online test which will be held twice a year from now on. With several the JEE Main happening over several shifts over several days and that too with varied difficulty levels, it will be unfair to judge a candidate with their own test scores. For the purpose of judging fairly, NTA will assess each candidate’s exam in terms of percentile score rather than raw score. This method known as Normalization technique based on percentile score aims to ensure that candidates are neither benefited nor disadvantaged with the varied exam difficulty across different exam session.
Check the JEE Main Result
The JEE Main result will be uploaded by NTA in their official website, and candidates can check the JEE Main Result by following the steps given below.
- Candidates will be able to view the exam JEE Main Result 2019 by logging in to the registered ID by entering the application number and date of birth. The detailed procedure is as follow.
- Candidates need to go to the official website of NTA JEE Main; access the link that leads to JEE Main Result; enter in roll number and date of birth along with the security pin; click on submit
- The JEE Main 2019 Result PDF will open in a new window.
- Candidates may download and keep printed copies of the result.
JEE Main Answer Key 2019
The Official Answer Key was released by NTA on 14th January 2019, and candidates can check their response sheets with questions and answer from the official website of NTA. 17th January 2019 will be the last day to view the JEE Main Answer Key.
Challenge the Answer Key
Moreover, NTA has also notified regarding the Answer Key challenge. Candidates can challenge the answer key and the associated question for a sum of INR 1000 per question. The link to challenge the answer key is not active in the official website of NTA. It is to be noted that the answer key challenge will only be processed will 17th January 2019 11:50 PM.
JEE Main Cutoff 2019
There had been many speculations regarding the JEE Main Exam Cutoff. Cutoffs are minimum required percentage of marks to further into the admission process. Various institutions and counselling agencies have put forward their best analysis for the probable JEE Main cutoff. It is expected to be within the range of 80 to 85 as per one source. Another source has speculated the expected cutoff for qualifying the JEE Main 2019 January session to be around 75 for general candidates, 30-35 for SC candidates, 25-30 for ST candidates, and 45-50 for OBC candidates.
